The Department of Statistical Methods of Mathematical Physics was organized
in 1994 on the base of the Laboratory of Statistical Methods of the Department
of Mathematical Physics.
Fields of interest:
random matrix theory, in particular, unitary invariant
ensembles of random matrices, ensembles with independent entries, ensembles
of sparse random matrices, theory of random graphs
-
spin glasses and neural networks theory, mean field type models
of disordered system, dynamics of neural networks
-
spectral theory of differential and finite-difference operators
with random and almost-periodical coefficients including the inverse
scattering problem for these operators
-
exactly and asymptotically exactly solvable models of
interacting ordered and disordered systems including the picture of phase
transitions and calculation methods for important physical characteristics
of such systems
-
theory of quantum magnets, in particular, theory of
low-dimensional quantum spin systems, theory of quantum spin chains with and
without magnetic and nonmagnetic impurities, exact solutions
-
theory of strongly correlated electron systems, in
particular, the theory of models of magnetic and hybridization impurities (Kondo and
Anderson impurities), low-dimensional correlated electron models (Hubbard
and t-J like models), theory of correlated electron systems with quenched
disorder, heavy fermions, non-Fermi-liquids, etc.
-
theory of mesoscopic and nanoscale electron systems, in
particular, theories of charge and spin persistent currents in quantum rings,
with and without magnetic and hybridization impurities.
