Group of SQUID-magnetometry and magnetic resonance investigations




SQUID-magnetometer MPMS-XL5

    SQUID-magnetometer ("Quantum Design", ÑØÀ) is intended for magnetic properties investigation (magnetization and magnetic susceptibility) of samples with small value of magnetic moment. Measurements can be provided with different materials: single crystals, polycrystalline samples, thin films, powders et al.





Basic technical characteristics:

  • range of measurement of the magnetic moment ±5 EMU;

  • differential sensitivity ≤10-8 EMU at the measurement of magnetic moment of sample in a field up to 0,25 Òesla and ≤2•10-7 EMU in a field up to 5 Òåslà;

  • magnetic field range ±5 Òåslà;

  • temperature range from 1,9 to 400 Ê;

  • temperature stability for sample space ±0,5%.


The equipment has a few additional options:

à) for magnetic anisotropy studies - automatic device for horizontal (from 0° to 360°, increment = 0,1°) or vertical (±360°, increment = ±0,1°)  sample rotation



b) Fiber Optic Sample Holder (FOSH) for magnetooptical investigation
