Department of Point-contact Spectroscopy

Scientific teams of the Department of Point-contact Spectroscopy conduct scientific research of the properties of newest superconducting, magnetically ordered and topological materials using the methods of Point-contact and Andreev-reflection Spectroscopy. At the same time, experimental studies of conductive and superconducting characteristics of strongly correlated, low-dimensional, strongly anisotropic conductive systems and structures are carried out by measuring Hall effect, thermoelectric power, resistive and magnetoresistive characteristics at low temperatures.

The department performs theoretical studies of the kinetic and thermodynamic characteristics of quasi-two-dimensional and quasi-one-dimensional conductors to identify fundamentally new physical representations and obtain new information about the processes in these classes of conductive systems.

All this makes it possible to obtain new scientific knowledge in the physics of solids and low temperatures, to predict promising areas of research for further development of scientific and technological progress in the field of nanoelectronics and spintronics.
