Victor V. EREMENKO
Victor Valentinovich Eremenko was born in Kharkov (Kharkiv), Ukraine on August 26, 1932. He graduated (1955) from the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the State University in Kharkiv. From 1956 up to 1958 he was a post graduate student (aspirant) of the Institute of Physics in Kiev and then up to 1961 he was a junior researcher at the same Institute. Since 1961 he was a member of the Scientific staff at the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering in Kharkiv. He confirmed the following scientific degrees: of candidate of science in physics and mathematics (1959) at the Institute of Physics (Kiev) and of doctor of science in physics and mathematics (1966) at the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering (Kharkiv). Since 1961 he has been working in the area of low temperature magnetism (magnetooptics, FIR, optical and Mosbayer spectroscopy, magnetic phase transitions). For his research in this area V.Eremenko was awarded more than once. He is a Complementary Member of the American Physical Society and an Active Member of the New York Academy of Sciences. V.Eremenko is the author of three books, more than 300 scientific articles.
