General
Information
The Conference will honor the
90th birthday of Vladimir A.
Marchenko, an outstanding
mathematician whose works on
inverse spectral problems for
differential operators and
inverse scattering problems gave
him worldwide recognition. His
pioneering works on spectra of
large random matrices and
boundary value problems with
finegrained boundaries for
differential operators laied the
foundation of new areas of
research in moderm mathematical
physics and theory of partial
differential equations. He is a
founder and leader of a
wellknown Kharkiv school of
mathematical physics.
Kharkiv is a very
special city for
V.A.Marchenko. Here he
was born, educated, has
been working for many
years at the B.Verkin
Institute for Low
Temperature Physics
& Engineering and
teaching at the
V.Karazin Kharkiv
National University.
